Who is Muskhag?

Je aa haanach’e,

My name is Thomasina, and I am Dene TsaaÊ” of the Prophet River First Nation. My roots and story begin within the dense forests of Prophet River, to the muskeg of Rose Prairie, and now to the beautiful Garry Oak Meadows that hold the city of Victoria.

I've journeyed through life exploring a variety of passions that carried me down many roads. Along the way, I met beautiful people and built meaningful connections within community. Some of those roads allowed me to walk through life as a pastry chef, installation artist, perfumer, writer, and teacher. I feel as though I danced along those roads—loving each in its own way, yet always searching for where they might lead. Deep inside, I felt my heart pulsing with passion, and it took time to understand what that feeling was guiding me towards. Now, rather than walking separate roads, I’ve chosen to let them intersect—bringing together the artist, the chef, the teacher, and the dreamer—to nourish what I love most: community.

With Muskhag, I am bringing this vision to life. I want to honor that heartbeat by weaving together food, art, land appreciation, and shared knowledge. Through community events, I hope to create spaces where we can connect with one another and with the earth—learning, celebrating, and finding joy together. Whether it’s gathering around food, sipping mead or tea, or honoring the old gods of the land, I invite you to join me on this journey. This is a road made of many roads, and may we walk it together. After all, the void consumes all—so let’s make our path toward it beautiful, joyous, and worth every step.
